Built for Solid, Full Sound

The start of any great guitar tone comes in the instrument’s tonewoods and construction, and Epiphone has made that a priority with the Custom Plus. The body and carved top are made of solid mahogany for a dense and naturally warm sound. Continuing the sound craftsmanship, the hard maple neck of the Custom Plus is glued into the body with TiteBond glue using a mortise and tenon neck joint to promote stability. The back of the neck is satin-finished for smooth playing, and capped with a rosewood fretboard.

The Zakk Wylde Bullseye Les Paul Custom is fitted for the task, with an EMG 81 in the neck and an EMG 85 in the bridge. These humbuckers are both designed with alnico magnets and active circuitry for a hot sound that helps draw rich overdrive out of tube amps.
